Hello. I saw that you were IJ's local counsel in Justice v Hoseman. I am seeking local council in MS in order to be able to move to intervene for a client in Anonymous Doe et al v Bryant, a case about Mississippi's disclaimer statute..
Could you drop me a line or give me a call? If you can't or won't do this yourself, I hope you'll help me find someone who will. I am trying to keep this first email short, but will be happy to tell you more about the case. All I need is a local counsel willing to sign off on a pro hoc vice motion, although I would have no objection to someone who wanted to be actively involved in the case. It concerns some of the same issues as were raised in the Justice case, but has a better line of precedent that I think makes it winnable, although no sure thing. - robbin stewart

Openings >> Human Research Protection Specialist
Human Research Protection Specialist

https://www.salusirb.com/research-participants/participant-inquiries/
situation: i was taken out of the study one day before it ended (there would also have been one follow up visit, so i missed 2 days out of 21, so i was there for about 90% of the study. the consent agreement said i would be paid "pro-rated" if i were removed from the study early. 90% of 2650 would be around 2385, but i was only paid about $1800.

On the day before the end of the study, i reported a rash. this decision ended up costing me $850. My travel and lodging expenses for the study were over $800, so reporting the rash ended up costing me 50% of what I expected to make. I am not convinced that this is in accord with the "pro-rated" payment promised in the consent agreement.

Further, I have concerns about whether this practice of having the volunteers subsidize celerion's research in this way lives up to the fairness principle which your documentation says is a guiding principle which your organization follows.

It's not just ethically problematic, it also leads to bad science, since what you get is a research environment where the participants are desperate to hide adverse events, because they afraid, with some cause, that they will be removed from the study and their pay docked in extreme amounts.

If the purpose of the study is to find out if there are adverse events, having a protocol that rewards participants for concealing AE's seems counterproductive. Some might claim that this is deliberate, in order for the CRO to be able to report a drug as safe that isn't.
These same cynics wold tend to say that IRB's are captive pawns in the process and don't really do anything to protect subject rights or safety.
I've sometimes had that experience (at Covance) but have never interacted with your organization, so I have open mind.
What I'm looking for is to be actually receive my pro-rated payment for the 90% of the study that I completed. I'm not insisting, just asking politely. I plan to do more studies there and am not trying to rock the boat or cause trouble or get banned, as I know has happened at some other places.
But I also hope that my bringing this to your attention will result in some constructive dialog, because the current arrangements are unfair to an already vulnerable population, the volunteers, and from a scientific pooint of view it's a design flaw that detracts from the quality and reliability of the results. If nothing else, the language in the consent agreement that currently promised pro-rated payment could be revised to more accurately let subjects know how much it will cost them if they honestly report their AE's. To be informed consent, the consent has to be informed. The current wording is misleading.
Thanks,
Cordially,
rs

recieved $350 from the old man, steve, $250 rent and $100 back rent.
already received $250 rent from ken for this month. i guess that's supposed to be for him and dawn too.

so i might have forgotten to add that to gross income for the year,
january
200 mark
250 ken
240 steve 690
february
250 ken
440 steve 690
march
250 ken
350 steve 600
==
               $1980
baltimore    $80
st charles $3300
columbia  $2400
west bend      50
oil estimate
400 x 3 =     $1200
== === ==== ==
7765 +1200 =
$8965. so nearly 9k in less than 2 months. but some expenses too, the medical, the texas taxes, the travel, will have to add all that up.

mark smith was paid $800 by hogsett campaign on election day.

mark smith paid $180 3/7/16,
8965
 180
===
$9145.
$100 from steve johnson (old man)
$9245 as of march 9th.

i keep forgetting dawn's ID problem.
so i can print off and use my ID with a letter to get her birth cert. then she can get her dl?

To: Indiana Department of Health
Date:
Re: Request for Birth Certificate  for Dawn __

costs $17.50.  plus fax.

research illinois ethics complaint against st clare county prosecutor brendan kelly for knowing false prosecution, in case where my proof of insurance was on file with the court, and was in possession of prosecutors, where i was unable to attend court in person, and the prosecutors office staff refused to meet with me.

prosecutor has a duty of honesty to the tribunal.

prosecutor has a duty to communicate with opposing counsel.

possibly other stuff.

2 booked car for 2 more days.
exepnses:
gas $36 nuts $3 coffee $3
ran into jake. called jasper, no news yet. got jake on waiting list.
3 found key for eric. need to take key.
4. did dishes, put away food.
need to take a nap, get up at 4 am, drive to st charles.
car is due back at noon saturday.
5. sent baker and daniels an email asking for pro bono help with voter ID case.
6. emailed zach mulholland at linked in, emailed my anonymos client who's name i keep forgetting.
so that's two billable moments today. 1/2 hour total i think.
7. booked screening for tomorrow.
8. called ian.

to do: call re title to #50.
buy minutes for march.
tried to look up mark smith info on indy mayor campaign finance report, did not find it.
tried to look up zachary mulholland address, did not find. could leave a facebook message asking him to email me.
could email charlie white, and my anonymous guy from vermont.
