Most of the case law I'm familiar with on this issue relates to state procedural rules, but US v. Simmons, 390 U.S. 377, 394 (1969), states “it [is] intolerable that one constitutional right should have to be surrendered in order to assert another.” I think the two rights in question in that case were different, however.

client letter, 14.
memo to self re public records request 15.
it is now tomorrow so i didnt finish a few of these items.

Note to self about public records request.
I went to the Marion County Voter Registration office and made a written request to inspect the voting registration and history of Dawn Young and myself Robbin Stewart. Spoke with  the new desk person, her supervisor, and then the County Clerk (not donnetta davidson, but i've met her before.) She'll send a letter in a week or so.
My position is that voting records are public records and the public has a right to come in and inspect a voting record, not just wait for a later written reply. They disagree. So next I need to run this by the public records advocate or whatever he's called at the statehouse.

Title VI, 42 U.S.C. § 2000d et seq., was enacted as part of the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964. It prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance. As President John F. Kennedy said in 1963:
Simple justice requires that public funds, to which all taxpayers of all races [colors, and national origins] contribute, not be spent in any fashion which encourages, entrenches, subsidizes or results in racial [color or national origin] discrimination.

today i dosed, but that was all i did. i have a week, i'll need to do better. there's no quiet room. it's going to be tough.

this post is to bitch about food and conditions.
was way cold this mornin g, ok now.
food not good.
breakfast bananamuffin was ok, water with meals is good. when they have soda they just throw away the cans.
lunch, was a weird taco-dorito thing.
dinner. powdered mash potatoes brown gravy 4 meetballs. salad was just shredded iceberg w kraft ranch dressing. snack is pretzels with heinz ranch dressing. plastic silverware. so pretty much garbage. oh the snack last night (aka dinner) was a ham sandwich, disgusting, with miracle whip.
seems to be a good group. all male for medical reasons. about half african. where are they finding africans in north dakota?
but so far no troublemakers. guy next to me is loud withhis phone. we are in one big room inthe day and bunkroom at night. almost everybody gets a bottom bunk. wifi is ok. staff is good.
weds: gross pasta ground beef thing. steemed chicken sandwich for lunch was disgusting. very good frozen strawberry shortcake.
thursday: sloppy joe for lunch. ok fried rice (not actually fried) for dinner but served with the same rubber chicken, did not eat half of it. water at meals is good. and i think they recycle the water bottles, just not the soda cans. same "salad" of shredded iceberg and kraft ranch dressing packet.
there was some lunch where we had baby carrots w ranch and potato chips and potato salad and cinnamon sugar cookie - i'm mixing up the two lunches.
snack tonight is bottle of water and bag of chips, a good kind. the ones that arent chex mix.
did nothing today. it's not a very work-conducive envirnment, but the responsibility is mine.
email from/to lindy today.

The First Church Of The Gospel Ministry grew out of the original church founded by the loving missionary heart, unselfish work, dedication and the glorious seeds planted by Dr. Irving O. Tarbox who was the founder of the Church Of Gospel Ministry. Dr. Tarbox was born on December the 14th 1907 in Lynn, Massachusetts and began a missionary evangelistic ministry at the age of 19 in 1926 after being led to the foot of the cross and ordained by one of the greatest women evangelist in American history Aimee Semple McPherson. Sister Aimee spoke a great prophecy over his life and young Irving soon began The Church Of Gospel Ministry that became a glorious and far reaching work the seeds of which brought much fruit for the Kingdom of God during his more than 73 years as it's founder, leader and Bishop. Dr. Tarbox worked as an independent missionary evangelist and missionary among the poor in California, the lepers of Mexico and many other mission fields of the world providing food, clothing, medical care, bibles and the message of the cross to untold thousands of poor people and through his national outreach program gained the support and help of other men and women who felt called to the mission fields and the missionary work of the cross.

This pairs nicely with my post on how to get free pancakes!
There's an app called Roadie, which is basically Uber for delivery--people post "gigs" (things they want delivered), and drivers will find gigs through the app and deliver the item. Roadie has also partnered with Waffle House. To get free a free waffle, simply sign up, open the app menu, click "Promotions", and you'll see a coupon for a free Waffle.
Referral link(gets both parties $10 credit for using Roadie) / non-referral link
Promo codes for an additional $50 in total Roadie credit: LOVE16, ROADIE10, EARTH15, ATL15
