notes for jefferson electric

to o: fix the typos, email an snailmail.

http://www.jeffersonelectricllc.com/team/

hello.

my name is robbin stewart. i woul like to meet with rob or joel for a cup of coffee at nei hamer.

i am a semi-retire lawyer an energy policy wonk. i also run a small business on east washington street. i have been stu ying Tesla as a mo el of electricification an moving away from fossil fuels.
they say think globally, act locally. your company is the closest to me physically, an it looks like it might be a goo fit, so i woul like an informational interview.

it is exciting that you guys are motivate by a sense of christian stewarship. i wholly agree. at the same time, we have some enominational or philosophical ifferences that coul lea to us not being a goo fit - i think a personal meeting woul be useful.

i think there is a possibility i might be able to become your inhouse counsel, or join your team in some other capacity, an even if not, we might be able to evelop some kin of win-win interaction.

i've mentione i'm a lawyer - i'm not claiming to be a goo lawyer. i have some skills an lack others.
i have no experience or training in solar installations. wouln't min learning.
when my brother became an electrical engineer,  i instea stu ie philosopy an law, to be able to a  ress the bigger picture.
similarly, i have no sales ability; that takes a ifferent kin of personality.  i'm an introvert.

i starte stewart's salvage company in 1979 to o han-on recycling.
we currently have an inventory of low-cost LE bulbs, as a low-cost entry point for proucing negawatts. i have been interestei negawatts since meeting amory an hunter lovins in 1980.
i later worke for eco-cycle, aka ecological recycling inc. in boul er co. i serve on the bouler county energy a visory committee in 1984-1985. at that time solar an win were technically possible but not yet economical. this was still true in 1992-1993 when i serve as vice-chair of the boone county missouri energy an environment commission, an was a clerk to the missouri public service commission. But by now, both solar an win are at parity with natural gas or other fossil fuels.
overpro uction of panels in china has resulte in a situation where installation costs are the main bottleneck, o a company like yours can be an innovator.
iniana is an untappe market, in comparison to southern california., which is getting saturate.
my sister in hawaii has a solar water heater, pv panels, an an electric car.

i think your company has a smart tactic of working with churches as clients. the builings are often well-suite for solar, an the financing is oable, but most important it can then be a catalyst for the congregation members to consier solar for their businesses an homes.

i might be able to be an asset here, for example in structuring church bons, which in iniana have fewer regulatory constraints than comparable bons for businesses.

also, i've notice your web page is better than average, but has lots of room for improvement.
i coul work on builing a library of vieos an resources, that coul bring more eyeballs to your site.
i closely follow ben sullins at teslanomics.co, who is getting millions of hits with his vieos.

i cou  aa pocast.

i o not yet know anything about the permitting process of solar installations in iniana, but it oesn't hurt to have a lawyer on tap. a lot of my work has been with aminsitrative law at the county or state level.

i coul go on, but i think i've sai enough to earn a meeting.

At Rutgers, we hope to increase the usefulness of hazelnuts as both agricultural and ornamental plants for New Jersey, the eastern U.S., and other climatically homologous areas. By combining present and continual research efforts and advances with an effective, focused genetic improvement program, it will be possible to develop productive hazelnut culture most anywhere in the temperate world.

“Marion County Indianapolis denies right to cast provisional ballots”

Robbin Stewart’s right that under federal law Marion County needs to offer him a provisional ballot—they don’t have to count it though.

i had written:

Breaking news:

Marion County/Indianapolis denies right to cast provisional ballots.

Today I received a letter from the Marion County Office of Corporation Counsel, in response to my filed notice of tort claim about having been denied a provisional ballot at the primary.
Here is the text:

Re: Tort Claim Notice 16-T-803

Dear Mr. Stewart,

Our office has received and reviewed your letter file stamped by the Marion County Clerk's Office on November 2, 2016. In your letter, you complain that you were not allowed to vote in the May 3, 2016 primary election because you "declined to show ID."

Indiana code Sec. 3-11-8.25.1 provides that "a voter who desires to vote an offial ballot at an election shall provide proof of indentification." The term "proof of identification" is defined by Indiana Code Sec. 3--2-40.5 and "refers to a document that satisfies all of the following."
[stautory text omitted for brevity]

Indiana's voter ID law was upheld by the United States Supreme Court in the case of Crawford v. Marion County Election Board, 53 U.S. 181 (2008.)

The poll workers complied with the law.

Sincerely,

Pamela G. Scheeman

At the time, with help from my Senator, I filed complaints with the county and with the election division of your office. I never heard anything back. so, as we discussed, I would like to know if your office agrees with Marion County about provisional ballots.

"That aggressiveness got a lot of complaints."

"We think we were well within our rights to reasonably regulate the safety and orderly conduct of a polling location," McKinney City Manager Paul Grimes said after the council meeting.
State law requires campaign workers stay 100 feet away from a polling location. But McKinney's new ordinance — approved last October — creates designated areas beyond that 100-foot zone where people can post or pass out

is it a scam?
In addition to ‘lead generators,’ websites like EverQuote are often referred to as auto insurance comparison engines. This is a bit of a misnomer, though, since—in contrast to websites like The Zebra—you won’t receive a quote after entering all of your information.

From this perspective, among more than 80 HighYa reader reviews, along with 250+ Better Business Bureau reviews and 40+ closed complaints as of this writing, most referenced receiving excessive phone calls after entering their information on EverQuote’s website. Many also didn’t appreciate spending the time to enter all of their details, only to find they didn’t receive a quote at the end of the process.
As a company, EverQuote (formerly AdHarmonics) is based out of Cambridge, MA, and have been providing leads to agents since 2011.

EverQuote was co-founded by CEO Seth Birnbaum and CTO Tomas Revesz, both of whom came from high-level positions at Verdasys, Inc. They also obtain leads from other websites under their control like USAutoInsuranceNow.com.
First, although EverQuote claims you’ll be “prequalified” after entering your information, this only relates to matching you with an agent who’s looking for drivers like you.

When I got close to the end of trying to enter all my answers, I realized I wasn't going to get what I was expecting. Instead of receiving the "quote" I was promised, as soon as I got out of the maze of entanglements on the site, I began to get emails and calls from multiple insurers. Further, I began to get spam calls and emails from questionable websites, a lot of them porn-oriented.
I am thoroughly disgusted and disappointed, and am very surprised that these people are allowed to advertise on Google sites.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
